Workshops & masterclasses

Location: Akoesticum, Frisopark 4, 6711 NZ Ede

Time: 10.00 – 17.30

Your day in Ede: From focus to an explosive finale

During this workshop and masterclass day at Akoesticum, we’ll help you get the most out of your voice. We’ve put together a programme where the joy of singing together is interspersed with a touch of theory and vocal technique. Here’s what you can expect:

The morning: Waking up and delving deeper

The doors open at 09.30 and coffee and tea will be ready. We’ll start the day together at 10.00 with an energetic vocal warm-up, after which we’ll split into two groups. What makes this day unique? You won’t have to miss a thing. Every participant will take part in a workshop led by both Shirma Rouse and Dwight Dissels. Whilst one group works on dynamics and harmony, for example, the other group focuses on intention and interpreting the lyrics—and we’ll swap groups halfway through the morning.

The afternoon: International masterclass

After a well-deserved lunch break with a delicious meal, we’ll move on to world-class talent. Mark De Lisser (who has travelled specially from the UK) will take over for an exclusive masterclass lasting just over an hour and a half. In this exclusive one-and-a-half-hour masterclass, we’ll be singing our hearts out, and Mark will share the secrets and techniques of gospel that have taken him all the way to the British royal family.

The finale: Gospel Singing Jam

After a short coffee break to catch our breath, we’ll bring everything we’ve learnt together. At 4.30 pm, we’ll round off the day with an unprecedented Gospel Singing Jam led by Mark De Lisser, Dwight Dissels and live musicians. Now it’s your turn to shine! Expect one huge vocal explosion of fun, energy and pure connection.

All-inclusive, with food and drink fully catered for

Your physical well-being is well looked after. Throughout the day, there is unlimited coffee, tea or water, as well as biscuits and fruit. You’ll also receive two tokens for a drink at the bar and can enjoy a delicious lunch and a hearty or healthy snack at the end of the afternoon.
