Café Friso
Café Friso is a new creative meeting place where young people from Ede build, create and programme together. Akoesticum and Skill School thus give young people an active role in the development of Friso, the new cultural hotspot in the Kazerne where art, culture and young people will meet structurally from 2027.
About Café Friso
With Café Friso, young people aged 14 to 27 are given the opportunity to design and programme their own cultural venue. From furnishings to activities: young people decide what the space looks like and what happens there. This creates a place where meeting, creativity and ownership are central.
In a co-creation process, young people design the space together with makers and facilitators. They build, paint and furnish Café Friso and then present their own programme. Think of open mic nights, rap battles, jam sessions, workshops and small exhibitions. In this way, Café Friso becomes a dynamic place where talent becomes visible and new ideas are born.
Young people building the hotspot of tomorrow
Café Friso is more than a temporary project. It is the first step towards structural youth participation within Friso. Young people not only build a place, but also a community in which they are co-owners of Ede's cultural future.
By involving young people from the start, Café Friso grows into a sustainable meeting place where new creators, new stories and new collaborations emerge.
